Southern Adelaide Gynaecology, led by Dr Rob Carey, welcomes patients for all aspects of Gynaecology.
About Dr Rob Carey
Dr Carey is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery and general gynaecology.
He holds a public appointment at Flinders Medical Centre in both the areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
He has completed the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy at Flinders Medical Centre between 2019 and 2020. During this time, he has trained under A/Prof Robert O’Shea, A/Prof Elvis Šeman, Dr. Fariba Behnia-Willison Dr. Andrew Day and Dr. Monika Juneja.
Dr Carey also has an interest in the management of vulvar disorders and has completed training with Dr. Jane Wood and A/Prof Gillian Marshman (Dermatologist) whilst completing his training.
During Dr. Carey’s training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, he has completed advanced training in Colposcopy, Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic Surgery and Pelvic Floor Surgery. He holds certification in Colposcopy Quality Assurance.
Dr Carey performs a number of advanced surgical procedures including laparoscopy (key hole surgery) for hysterectomy, fibroids and endometriosis and incontinence. He is also able to manage pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence both medically and surgically.
As a resident of the southern Adelaide area he has a goal of providing care in a calm and nurturing environment with strong respect for patients choices.
Dr Carey has presented at numerous national and international conferences and meetings in the fields of Gynaecology and Obstetrics.
